About this event

The boat inspectors will be meeting us at the Bloedel Donovan parking lot to get our kayaks inspected and stickered for lake paddling.
RSVP's (to me, Tammy, at schrofamily@gmail.com) appreciated but not required, that way if there are a lot of us they can send a 3rd inspector to move things along more quickly.
Don't forget to do the online course to make the inspections free (see below).

I'm thinking if the weather is decent we follow the inspections with a paddle on Lake Whatcom. Distance of 4-8 miles depending on the weather and the group going. I'll send something out a week ahead with more specifics about the paddle.

All boats are required to have a valid permit when launching and while operating on Lake Whatcom or Lake Samish. I think this might also be required for lakes further away from Bellingham. Get $10 off your annual permit (which then makes it free for kayaks) by taking the AIS Awareness Course today! You’ll also learn more about ways to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. The short online course takes 20- 30 minutes, and if you take the quick 5 minute quiz and don't pass you can immediately retake it until you do. Bring a copy of your completion to show the id # and that makes the inspection and sticker free for kayaks.

Hope to see you there!
Tammy
