About this event

Burrows and Alan is one of my favorite paddles and one I've repeated many times.  Exposed to the Straight, the south and west coasts have a feeling of wildness found on the outer coast.  Exposed to tidal currents, there is always something going on with the environment.

From Washington Park we will round the headland then paddle a figure 8 around the islands.  Expect 2, maybe 3 shore stops.

Time and Place:  We will launch from Washington Park Boat Launch about 9:00am.  

Meet in the small parking area next to the boat launch at 8:30am to stage boats.


Skill Level:  In calm winds this is a Level 3 Trip.  If the winds increase, the difficulty will increase.  Be prepared for currents to 3 knots, including small standing waves and moderate eddy lines.  

The paddling distance is about 9nm.  Our paddling pace will be mid 3 knots.  Not fast, but a steady effort.
