We will meet in the warmer and protected waters of Wildcat Cover at Larabee State Park focusing on some rolling exercises. Francesca Knight, a Greenland rolling ace will be there to lend a hand.
If the group decides to end the event with a short paddle up the coast we will do that, otherwise we won't be moving far from the cove.
Whether you want to fine tune existing rolls, learn new once or get a feel for what it would take to roll for the first time this is a low stress event to do it.
Schedule.
Meet at 12:30 on the beach at Wildcat Cove at Larabee, butts in boat around 13:00. This half hour can be used to talk theory, ask questions etc. I expect to be playing for about 2h, after that we can discuss if the group wants to explore up or down teh coast for another 30 minutes.
Don't forget you Discover Pass.
Conditions should not matter too much that day since we will be just outside of the cove.
Equipment: We are entering some cooler fall temperatures. Since we won't be moving much but will be spending some time upside down, consider layering up.
The tide will be mostly out when we get to the launch. Bring a cart if you need it being mindful of the Eelgrass in the cove.
Suggested equipment is nose and ear plugs, a skull cap to keep your head warm/water from splashing in your ear.
